On this episode, the king sends Well’s party to investigate the ruins with Blanctag. Later, they encounter traps.

This plot is actually pretty decent compared to certain previous episodes. Also, the action is good and especially how Wells and Elise bonds more. Other than that, it seems there’s still more rush skipping which is quite unfortunate. The adaptation should have been a 24 episodes limit instead of the regular 12. Now what’s going to happen next? I can’t wait to find out. Overall, decent dungeon exploring plot and some cool action. …continue reading

To the Future – Demon Slayer’s Ending

Last panel of Demon Slayer Chapter 205

When I first heard rumors about Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba ending a few months ago, I was shocked to hear about the manga ending so soon. I thought there were some other mysteries to be unraveled after this. Then while reading through the final arc, it started to feel that this was it.

And after only 205 chapters, Demon Slayer is known as one of the very few popular manga that reached insane heights in terms of sales, but not continuing on for the sake of popularity.

(Huge spoilers incoming after the jump)

The final arcs happened somewhat quickly as all the Demon Slayer Corps banded together in a desperate attempt to finish off their eternal nemesis, Muzan Kibutsuji, for good. Muzan, with whoever was left of his elite army (the Upper Moons of the Mizuki), visits the HQ of the Corps to finish off them off for good and ends up being caught in an elaborate plan to defeat him. A good number of notable characters (almost all of the Hashira and all of the Miuki) die throughout the process. Tanjiro ends up taking out Muzan despite being injected in one eye with demon blood during the fight. Muzan tries to possess Tanjiro after his defeat through his demon blood, but Tanjiro rejects him thanks to his friends. Nezuko finally becomes human too. All is well. The final chapter fast-forwards from the Taisho era to the 21st century where the descendants of all the major characters are living in peaceful times.

One of the things I liked about Demon Slayer is how the deaths of the Hashira have been used to help Tanjiro get better. Their whole lives were dedicated to defeating Muzan for good. With Tanjiro arguably being their best chance since he actually …continue reading

ERASED: Life Gives Second Chances

Erased, Boku Dake ga Inai Machi
THIS POST MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!

When we watch anime, common tropes are almost always used. The slice of life genre especially contains the same high school setting with the average protagonist. Of course, they’re not carbon copies; they mix in new elements to change things up, but the formula is the same. Yet we don’t ever get to see different settings, new experiences, and changes. Taking a chance at a new story is risky, but this kind of alternative experience is much needed. This is where anime such as Boku dake ga Inai Machi or ERASED, come into play.

ERASED tells a story about a unique individual and the mystery surrounds the world around him. The main character is Satoru Fujinuma. He’s somewhat of the average protagonist, but he’s older at the ripe age of 29. His life isn’t exactly going as planned, as he struggles to hit it big as a manga artist. The only benefit he has is that he has the ability to repeat certain events, going back in time to stop catastrophes.
From the beginning I thought that the series would revolve completely around his powers, featuring everyday situations and being a small-time superhero. This expectation was completely blown out the water when he gets sent back in time, to solve a murder mystery that happened during his grade school days.
It starts with the murder of his mother, with him being framed as the culprit. Becoming a fugitive and then forced back to the past, he then has to relive this point of his life with an adult mindset and a newfound drive to stop the murders.

On this episode, Christina and the Shadows starts attacking a town. Later, Yuuki regains more of his memories to help counter attack.

So it’s interesting to see corrupted Shiori and Christina attack the town along with the Shadows. Also, I liked how Hatsune reveals more of her abilities and rescues Shiori from Shadow corruption. Other than that, it’s nice that Yuuki gets more memory recovery for being the Princess Knight and even has slightly improved speaking. Now what’s going to be the next plot? I definitely can’t wait to find out. Overall, awesome Shadows battle and more nice Yuuki memory recovery. …continue reading
