On April 27, 1996, The Henry Miller Museum of Art was opened in Omachi City, in Nagano. A master writer of the 20th century and a man who loved Japan, the paintings of Henry Miller are overflowing with originality and are poems in praise of splendid lives. The Gotoh Museum

The Gotoh Museum is located on the southwest periphery of Tokyo. Its founder was Gotoh Keita (1882-1959),the late chairman of the Tokyu Corporattion. His private collection of premodern Japanese, Chinese and Korean art was opened to the public in 1960. Since his selection forms the nucleus around which the present collection is gathered, the destinctive qualities of the museum still reflect his interest and taste.
