Tokyo zoo's panda cub starting to open eyes

The giant panda cub at Tokyo's Ueno Zoo is growing steadily and starting to open her eyes.

The zoo's first panda cub in 5 years was born on June 12th.

She weighed 1,656 grams on Saturday -- an increase of more than 500 grams in 10 days.

A video taken on Saturday shows the cub is starting to open her eyes slightly.

Zoo officials say the cub started creeping forward and changing direction about a week ago. They say she is expected to fully open her eyes within a few days, and will be able to walk when she is 90 days old.
