Shiseido recalls 400,000 eyeliner sticks

Japanese cosmetics giant Shiseido is recalling about 400,000 eyeliner sticks. Officials at the firm say plastic splinters have been found in some items.

They received complaints in July and August from consumers who bought the "Integrate Killer Wink Gel Liner."

A company investigation detected contamination in the product's core part. The particles presumably mixed in with the core during the filling stage.

Shiseido has decided to recall all sticks sold since their market launch 6 years ago. The officials fear the defect may harm users.
