Abe, Modi hold talks at country cottage

NHK -- Oct 29

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi have held talks at Abe's holiday home in central Japan.

This is the first time Abe has invited a foreign dignitary to his cottage in Narusawa Village, Yamanashi Prefecture.

The leaders held talks over dinner for about 90 minutes on Sunday evening. They exchanged views on a wide range of subjects, including regional security, and the strengthening of economic and other relations.

Abe and Modi are scheduled to hold their 12th summit at the prime minister's office in Tokyo on Monday.

They are expected to agree to enhance political and economic ties by promoting Japanese businesses in India and cooperating on security issues.
