A 51-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a female high school student in a back alley in Tokyo in July, police said Wednesday.
According to police, Kozo Yoshinaga, a company employee, approached the 15-year-old girl from behind as she walked home and forcibly hugged and assaulted her in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo on July 3, Fuji TV reported. Police said Yoshinaga grabbed her wrists and dragged her into the alley.
Police said Yoshinaga has admitted to the charge and quoted him as saying he could not restrain himself.
Police have received reports of similar offenses in the same area and are questioning Yoshinaga about his involvement in those crimes.
