Former Nissan Motor chairman Carlos Ghosn says he's ready to hold a news conference on April 11.
On a twitter account he just opened, Ghosn said: "I'm getting ready to tell the truth about what's happening."
The message is the first he has issued directly since his release on bail last month.
Ghosn has been indicted on charges including aggravated breach of trust.
Tokyo prosecutors also suspect he misappropriated some of the money paid to a dealership in Oman for personal use.
Ghosn is reportedly authorized under his bail terms to use the internet on computers in his attorneys' offices.
