A fire chief was arrested Sunday on suspicion of involvement in a hit-and-run accident that injured a prefectural employee.
Katsuya Miyauchi, the 50-year-old chief of a local firefighters office of the Takamatsu municipal fire department, is suspected of driving off after rear-ending a motorcycle on a street in Takamatsu at 10:10 p.m. Saturday. A 38-year-old prefectural government employee who was riding the motorbike suffered slight injuries.
