NAGOYA, Mar 05 (News On Japan) - A plan to relocate wild deer from Kyoto to Nagoya Castle in order to increase the small population of deer living in the castle’s moat has been abandoned, Nagoya city officials announced on March 5th.
Two deer currently live in the moat surrounding Nagoya Castle, where they have taken up residence and become a familiar sight. In an effort to increase their numbers, officials had considered accepting wild deer captured in Kyoto.
However, Nagoya City revealed on March 5th that the relocation plan has now been abandoned, bringing an end to the proposal to move Kyoto’s wild deer to the historic castle site.
