TOKYO, Mar 12 (News On Japan) - Nissan Motor, U.S. ride-hailing giant Uber Technologies, and autonomous driving developer Wayve announced on March 12th that they will collaborate on a self-driving taxi business.
The companies plan to equip vehicles based on Nissan’s electric car Leaf with an AI-powered autonomous driving system developed by Wayve, allowing the vehicles to be used through Uber’s ride-hailing app.
The three companies aim to begin trial operations in Tokyo in the second half of 2026.
