Ocular - a meditative travelogue of one girl's journey through Japan

One girl’s mesmerising voyage through Japan is cut short when she encounters another girl — a recurring stranger — haunting her path.

Deviating from her own travels, the protagonist, Jane, begins to wonder about the girl with a curiosity bordering on obsession. Directed, written, produced, composed, and edited by Joy Song, the film appropriates the documentary format only to poke holes into its very fabric by means of an unreliable narrator. The feature length narrative documentary simultaneously acts as a study of the fickleness of any one person’s interpretation of reality, and the perils of finding one’s self in pursuit of perfection.
