Musk calls Twitter 'Japan-centric' given high number of users

Twitter CEO Elon Musk has reportedly told employees they should aspire to replicate Japan's heavy use of the social media platform everywhere around the world.

US news website The Verge says Musk made the remark during a meeting with Twitter employees on Monday. It cited sources who attended the meeting and a partial recording of the session.

Musk is quoted as saying, "It may seem as though Twitter is US-centric but if anything it's Japan-centric."

He said, "There are roughly the same number of daily active users in Japan as there are in the US, despite the fact that Japan has one third of the population of the US."

Musk reportedly said the company should seek to achieve Japan's historically strong usage of Twitter "ideally in every country without exception." ...continue reading
