Tokyo Disney operator to raise workers' pay by 7 percent

TOKYO, Feb 01 (NHK) - The operator of Tokyo Disney Resort is the latest major employer in Japan to announce wage hikes. Average pay will rise by 7 percent from April.

The decision by Oriental Land comes amid decades-high inflation and calls by the government for employers to give raises to their workers.

The theme-park operator says it has reached an agreement with its labor union to increase salaries and hourly wages for all employees.
