Japanese man finds live frog in takeaway udon cup

A Japanese man ordered takeaway from a popular restaurant chain but he was not prepared for what he saw inside.

The man named Kaito (@kaito09061) was horrified to find a live frog in a cup of udon noodles, and that too, when he had almost finished eating most of it. For the uninitiated, udon is a thick noodle made from wheat flour, used in Japanese cuisine. Kaito was on a business trip when he ordered takeaway from a popular restaurant chain.

To his horror, he spotted a live frog at the bottom of the cup. The food was ordered from Marugame Seimen, a Japanese fast-casual restaurant chain that specialises in udon. He was eating Spicy Dandan Salad Udon that came in a cup. The dish requires customers to shake its contents well before consumption.

Kaito shared a video and picture on Twitter and along with it, he wrote how he suddenly found the frog in his dish.

He was on the verge of finishing his food when he noticed the frog moving. After he complained, the eatery remained closed for only three hours and then started selling salads and the same products again. ...continue reading
