TOKYO, Apr 19 (News On Japan) - A man in his 40s was arrested in Tokyo’s Akabane area for leading a group that organized illegal rides on heavily modified motorcycles. The group, active on social media, would gather and ride together using bikes equipped with flashing tail lights, exaggerated seat designs, and slogans referencing rebellion and anti-social behavior.
These group rides often involved erratic and disruptive driving, drawing the attention of law enforcement.
The suspect, who described himself as a "full delinquent," acted as the leader of the gang and was known for promoting a defiant image. One of the seized bikes featured a tall, golden seat and messages such as "Problem Child" and "Anti-social Individual," likely serving as personal statements of identity and attitude.
Authorities believe the man used social media to recruit others to participate in the rides. He is also suspected of lending a motorcycle to another individual in his 40s who had never obtained a driver’s license. During questioning, the suspect admitted to the act, stating he lent the bike after being told the other man had none.
