TOKYO, Apr 02 (News On Japan) - Three individuals, including the operator of a Tokyo-based outcall sex service, were arrested for allegedly providing locations for prostitution to Vietnamese women believed to have entered Japan on short-term visas, authorities said.
Among those arrested was Nagase Hideyasu, a 42-year-old manager of the non-store-based adult service Pajama de Ojama, who is suspected of arranging for female employees in their 20s of Vietnamese nationality to engage in prostitution at rental rooms in Edogawa Ward, Tokyo, in December last year.
According to investigators, the three suspects have admitted to the allegations, reportedly stating that "women from Vietnam and China come to Japan to earn money by selling their bodies."
The Metropolitan Police Department believes the group facilitated prostitution involving Vietnamese women who had entered Japan on short-term stay visas, generating approximately 46 million yen in revenue over a period of just over one year since the year before last.
Nagase had previously been arrested and indicted for allegedly violating immigration law by employing a Thai woman on a short-term visa at a sex-related business in Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture.
