Sep 03 (News On Japan) - TELL, Japan’s leading mental health NPO supporting the international community, will launch its annual Step-Up Challenge on Wednesday, September 10th, World Suicide Prevention Day.
This month-long campaign running to Friday, October 10th—World Mental Health Day— invites communities across Japan to raise awareness and start vital conversations about mental health, especially among youth.
Participants are encouraged to walk 20,320 steps, solo or in teams to honor the 20,320 lives lost to suicide in Japan in 2024. This number included 1,077 students, 529 aged 6–18. The campaign is by no means limited to walking. Participants can also engage in any activity for 20,320 seconds (around 6 hours), from painting to swimming to gaming. The goal is to reflect, remember, and engage in ways that resonate personally.
