OSAKA, Oct 15 (News On Japan) - Kinki University’s new Osaka Medical Campus, set to open in Sakai in November, has been unveiled as part of a major relocation project aimed at revitalizing the university’s medical education and healthcare services in southern Osaka.
The university decided to move its medical faculty and hospital from their aging facilities to a new site in Sakai’s Minami Ward, located directly in front of Izumigaoka Station on the Nankai Senboku Line, offering significantly improved access from central Osaka. The new campus will become home to approximately 800 students from the medical faculty and a newly established nursing faculty, which will welcome its first class in April next year.
The university hospital, also relocating to the site, will be equipped with the latest medical technologies, enabling it to provide advanced treatment and expand patient care. "We hope to make the most of the excellent access so that patients from a wide range of areas can come here and make full use of our services," said hospital director Tomonori Higashida.
Kinki University aims to use the new facility as a base to further contribute to the development of healthcare in southern Osaka, strengthening both its educational mission and clinical capacity.
