TOKYO, Oct 25 (News On Japan) - Prime Minister Takaichi made her de facto diplomatic debut by joining an online summit of a coalition supporting Ukraine, where she expressed Japan’s commitment to continue providing assistance.
Takaichi said, "I pointed out that the outcome of this war will have a significant impact on the entire international order, extending beyond Europe to include East Asia."
On the night of October 24th, Takaichi participated for the first time since taking office in an online summit co-hosted by the United Kingdom and France, which was also attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
During the meeting, she emphasized that Japan will continue to work with the international community to support Ukraine and to advance sanctions against Russia.
Starting today, Takaichi is visiting Malaysia—her first overseas trip since assuming office—where she plans to attend ASEAN-related summits.
