USJ Expands Minion Park With New Ride for Summer

OSAKA, Apr 25 (News On Japan) - Universal Studios Japan has announced a surprise expansion of its popular Minion Park, increasing the area by 1.4 times and unveiling a new attraction that features the park’s first-ever moving walkway.

The news was revealed during an event celebrating the 8th anniversary of Minion Park’s opening. Around 300 invited fans joined the beloved Minion characters in dance and celebration. The announcement of the major upgrade added a festive shock to the occasion.

The park described the revamped Minion Park as becoming even more chaotic—“hachamecha,” a Japanese word often used to describe wild, unpredictable fun.

A fan who attended the event said, "It was totally crazy... sorry, I have hay fever... but it was super fun!" Another fan added, "It was insanely fun. I can't wait until summer—I’ll be the first in line!"

The expanded area and new attraction are scheduled to open this summer.
