HYOGO, Sep 19 (News On Japan) - Hyogo Governor Motohiko Saito announced that the prefecture will not host a victory parade for the Hanshin Tigers, citing sharply rising costs compared with the previous event.
Saito said, "Compared with the last parade, costs are likely to increase by nearly 20 percent. We have decided to forgo hosting the parade." He explained that higher security and material expenses made it difficult for the prefecture to move forward.
By contrast, Osaka Governor Hirofumi Yoshimura confirmed that Osaka Prefecture will hold a victory parade for the Tigers on November 22nd along Midosuji Avenue following the conclusion of the Japan Series.
