TOKYO, Oct 07 (News On Japan) - Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is set to acquire the naming rights to Japan’s National Stadium starting in January 2026, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The National Stadium, which served as the main venue for the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, was privatized in April this year, after which its operating organization began accepting applications for naming rights.
Interviews with people involved in the process revealed that MUFG is expected to secure the rights, with an official announcement to be made later in October, including the stadium’s new name.
Through this agreement, MUFG will also participate in the management of the stadium. By hosting various sporting and cultural events at the high-profile venue, the group aims to strengthen its brand presence and increase opportunities for engagement with customers.
