KOCHI, Sep 29 (News On Japan) - A man kidnapped and believed to have been murdered in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture, has led investigators to a broader case, with police announcing the arrest and indictment of two additional suspects on charges of abandoning a body.
The suspects include Ryusei Tokushige, a 33-year-old senior member of the Yamaguchi-gumi crime syndicate, along with another man. According to investigators, they are accused of conspiring with Kohei Mitani, who had already been arrested in June on suspicion of murder, to transport the body of a 23-year-old victim from Kyoto Prefecture to Kochi Prefecture. The body is alleged to have been left in the area surrounding Okawa Village in Kochi.
Police believe the two men arranged a vehicle to move the body and may have joined the crime through connections with Mitani.
On September 26th, human remains believed to be bones were discovered in a mountainous area of Kochi. Police are conducting forensic tests to confirm whether they belong to the victim and are continuing to investigate the suspects’ roles in the killing and cover-up.
