KYOTO, Oct 08 (News On Japan) - During their visit to the Kansai region, the Japanese Emperor and Empress arrived in Kyoto aboard the “Imperial Train,” which operates on a special schedule reserved solely for the Imperial couple. During its operation, no other train is allowed to overtake or run alongside it, ensuring absolute safety and privacy.
Only a select group of highly skilled veteran drivers are permitted to operate the train, after undergoing extensive training to ensure smooth braking, precise timing, and a comfortable ride for Their Majesties.
After arriving in Kyoto, the Emperor and Empress visited the Osaka-Kansai Expo, touring the Japan Pavilion and the United Nations Pavilion. This marked their second visit to the Expo since its opening in April. The Imperial Train’s exclusive operation and the disciplined professionalism behind it highlight Japan’s deep respect for its Imperial tradition and its dedication to precision railway management.
