HYOGO, Oct 13 (News On Japan) - A 23-year-old woman was arrested on the afternoon of October 12th in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture, after she allegedly slashed the neck of an 83-year-old man with a knife inside a residential home, leading to his death shortly after.
The incident occurred at a house in the Wakaoji district around 1:30 p.m., when police received a call reporting that an elderly woman, covered in blood, was asking someone to dial 110.
Officers rushed to the scene and found Yoshichika Morimatsu, 83, lying face down on the first floor of his home, with the woman reportedly attacking him with a kitchen knife.
The suspect, identified as Aika Akashi, an unemployed resident of the same neighborhood, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. Morimatsu was later pronounced dead.
Akashi has admitted to the allegations, and police are investigating the circumstances of the incident, including whether any prior trouble existed between the two.
