BEIJING, Oct 14 (News On Japan) - Sony opened a new facility in central Beijing on October 13th that allows visitors to experience its latest 3D imaging and sensor technologies, part of a broader push to strengthen its entertainment business in China.
The center features a range of interactive attractions, including one where visitors can create a highly realistic game character based on their own appearance captured by 36 high-precision cameras. Other installations also showcase Sony’s cutting-edge visual and sensor capabilities.
While entertainment such as games and movies accounts for more than 60% of Sony’s global revenue, its business in China has long been centered on hardware like cameras and semiconductors. With the new facility, the company aims to shift that balance and accelerate the growth of its entertainment segment in one of the world’s most important markets.
