NARA, Oct 25 (News On Japan) - A Japan-Korea exchange event organized by Nara Prefecture was held on October 24th, featuring performances by K-pop artists and traditional entertainers from both countries to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Nara’s friendship agreement with South Chungcheong Province in South Korea.
The event, originally planned with a budget of 270 million yen, was scaled down to about one-ninth of the initial amount following objections from the prefectural assembly. Despite the cuts, the event proceeded as planned, highlighting cultural exchange and goodwill between the two regions.
Performances included traditional Japanese and Korean arts, followed by a lively finale from K-pop artists that drew enthusiastic applause from the audience. Around 1,200 spectators filled the venue, creating a vibrant atmosphere as the night concluded with a sense of renewed connection between Japan and Korea.
