Keluar dari Puff: Kereta Uap Tertua di Jepang Berhenti Beroperasi

Mar 19 (News On Japan) - Pada tanggal 23 Maret, kereta wisata yang terkenal akan mengakhiri layanannya karena JR Kyushu akan menghentikan penggunaan lokomotif uap tertua yang masih beroperasi di Jepang, yaitu "SL Hitoyoshi."

Lokomotif yang diproduksi 101 tahun yang lalu ini merupakan salah satu dari jenis lokomotif uap domestik tertua yang masih aktif beroperasi (SL). Penghentian operasionalnya disebabkan oleh faktor usia yang semakin tua, kesulitan dalam mendapatkan suku cadang, dan keterbatasan teknisi yang terampil untuk perawatan.

Dikenal dengan julukan "Hachiroku", lokomotif ini sangat dihargai oleh masyarakat setempat dan para penggemar kereta api. Saat memasuki masa pensiunnya, tidak hanya para penggemar, tetapi juga kru dan teknisi merasakan kesedihan yang mendalam.
