OSAKA, Jun 02 (News On Japan) - The National Day of Palestine was celebrated at Expo 2025 in Osaka on June 1st with a vibrant performance by a traditional dance troupe from the West Bank, earning a standing ovation from the audience.
A fashion show followed, showcasing Palestinian embroidery featured on both traditional garments and kimono-style outfits. Among the items introduced were cushions embroidered by women living in Gaza, drawing attention to the role of craft in Palestinian daily life and resilience. Although Japan has not officially recognized Palestine as a state, the event highlighted the cultural presence and expression of the Palestinian people on the global stage.
