KOBE - A major traffic accident involving 10 vehicles, including trucks and passenger cars, left one man seriously injured and nine others with minor injuries on the Daini Shinmei Road in Kobe on September 24, forcing the closure of part of the expressway.
Firefighters received numerous emergency calls at around 3 p.m. reporting a collision involving multiple vehicles near the 0.2-kilometer marker on the inbound lanes of the Daini Shinmei Road in Kobe's Suma Ward. Some callers reported that a trailer had turned sideways across the road.
According to police, the accident involved a total of 10 vehicles, including passenger cars and trucks. A man in his 50s driving a light truck was temporarily trapped inside his vehicle before being rescued by emergency workers and taken to a hospital. His injuries are believed to be serious.
Nine other people, both men and women, are believed to have sustained minor injuries.
The accident prompted authorities to close part of the Daini Shinmei Road, while police and firefighters investigate the circumstances and cause of the collision.
